Eric Schwartz, Music Director and Accompanist
Mr.
Schwartz was awarded a BA in Music, Queens
College in NYC and was subsequently awarded an MFA in Composition by
the New England Conservatory where he held fellowships in choral and
vocal accompaniment under Lorna Cooke DeVaron and John Moriarty,
respectively.
While serving in
Viet Nam, he had the extreme good
fortune to accompany
world-renowned tenor Richard Tucker on his tour of the country.
Returning to civilian life, he spent more than 25 years with the
Federal Reserve Bank of Boston as a computer programmer. Now retired,
he is again devoting himself to music. It is Lowell Opera Company's
extreme good fortune to count Mr. Schwartz among its membership and to
receive his skill and guidance as its Music Director.
Mr. Schwartz made his onstage debut with LOC last season in the role of
Frosch the Jailer in Strauss' Die Fledermaus, conducted
by Valerie Taylor with the Lowell Philharmonic Orchestra.
