Gregorio Rangel, tenor

Known for his concert work in a
broad range of languages, Gregorio Rangel has performed operatic
repertoire in Italian, French, Spanish, English, German, Russian and
Polish on many stages throughout the United States, Western Europe and
Eastern Europe. He has presented German lied, melodies francaises,
Italian songs in addition to Zarsuela and Spanish song literature.

A graduate of Oberlin Conservatory
of Music, Mr. Rangel received a Master of Music degree from Florida
State University, served an apprenticeship in vocal studies in the
Union of Soviet Russia and was awarded the El Concurso Manuel de Falla
in Granada, Spain.
Gregorio performed
the role of Alfredo,
the operatic tenor, in last season's Die Fledermaus with Lowell
Opera Company to rave reviews of his fine singing, superb acting, comic
timing and physicality. He has been an audience favorite in numerous
cabaret programs, entertaining with romantic duets, soul touching
Neapolitan songs and impressing with aria favorites. This season he
returned in That's Amore, an
Italian Cabaret and appeared as Nemorino
in the June 2005 production of Donizetti's romantic comedy Elixir of Love where he
delighted audiences with his superb acting, comedic interpretation and
warm vocal color.
Mr. Rangel's recent appearences include: Don Jose in Carmen, Rodolfo
in La Boheme, Alfredo
in Verdi's La Traviata,
Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni, Ismaele in Nabucco, Jontek
in Halka and many other roles
with opera companies from Casa Italiana Opera in California, Operesque
Classical in NYC, to the Rzeszow Festival in Poland. His performances
have taken him to the Kennedy Performing Arts Center in Washington, DC
and the Danny Kaye Theater in NYC.
