History of Lowell Opera Company
No chronology has been kept for the company, so our
current sense of continuity is based on press clippings and personal
remembrances. We have a current member of LOC who has been singing with
the company since 1955, and though he states that the company had been
around for some time prior to that date, that is the earliest year of
confirmed existence.
1955 - 2005
Lowell Opera Company's 50th season is next year.
We do have confirmation that Lowell
Opera Company was incorporated
in 1975, making the 2005 - 2006 the company's 30th anniversary season
as well as its 50th.
