Lauren Sprague,

 lyric coloratura soprano

 
A Connecticut native and Summa Cum Laude graduate of Boston University with a degree in Music: Vocal Performance, Ms. Sprague has delighted audiences throughout the New England area. An exciting performer in Lowell Opera Company's cabaret series, Lauren made her main stage debut with LOC in a comedic turn as Adele in Strauss'  Die Fledermaus (Dec. 2003). She delighted audiences with her return in the leading role of Adina in the June 2005 production of Donizetti's Elixir of Love.

Praised for her delightful stage presence and vibrant vocal tone, Ms. Sprague's opera experience includes the role of Esmerelda in The Bartered BrideDespina in Cosi Fan Tutte, Mabel in Opera New Hampshire's Pirates of Penzance in Manchester's Palace Theatre and opera scenes and arias with Longwood Opera's Summer Concert Series.

A sought after soprano soloist,  Lauren 
was the  soloist in the WCUC series performances of Schubert's Mass in G, Faure's REQUIEM, Haydn's Kleine Orgelmesse, appeared with  Kairos Vocal Ensemble, The Spectrum Singers, and with a variety of musical theater groups including  JM Productions where she was featured in A Grand Night for Singing, All Night Strut, and Gotta Get Gershwin, Fiddlehead Theatre, and South End Playback. She is also a Cantor for a Concord, MA church.

Lauren writes and directs musicals for children and has performed in Babes in Toyland, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty and many other children's theater productions. She is
  co-director of the Merrimack Valley Youth Theatre and  has been the Music Director of Tewksbury High School's productions for the past several years.

Ms. Sprague continues to study voice with Kerry Deal, and counts Michael Strauss and Sondra Kelly among her vocal coaches.
